William H. Tate

William H. Tate is a partner in this firm. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance coverage of construction disputes and surety law. He received a B.A. from the University of Tennessee in 1975. He also received a J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1979. Mr. Tate served as a judicial law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court, and is the author of Mechanics' and Materialmen's Liens, 45 Tenn. Law Rev. 741.

Mr. Tate served on the Board of Directors of the Nashville Bar Association from 1997 to 1999 (First Vice-President 1999.) He is also a Fellow and Trustee of the Nashville Bar Foundation. He served as Chairman and on the Board of Directors of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital from 1990-1998. Mr. Tate is married to Debi Tate, who is also an attorney. He is the father of Will (23), Taylor (21) and Cacky (19).
